The Cobourg Highland Games Society has now come to believe that we can proceed with "The only Highland Games east of the Rockies", on September 11th. (Thank you PPBSO for that catchy phrase)
Of course it is ultimately "the powers that be", who decide what will happen, but with the likes of Canada's Wonderland now open, and the Blue Jays expected back home by the end of July, we are very hopeful.
We now have at least 12 Pipe Bands who are willing to attend, as well as the Heavies. Hopefully we will have some Clan members there too.
The Highland Dancers will not be competing this year, but we are expecting to have demonstrations of Highland Dance performed at the Bandshell.
If we can do this, we will be "The only Highland Games east of the Rocky Mountains". Canmore, Alberta is the only other Highland Games scheduled this year, in all of Canada
We will keep monitoring the situation, and hopefully we can still have our Games, but as we have said, it is ultimately the decision of the Government.
