The usual weekend for the Cobourg Highland Games has now come and gone. We are still hoping that we can have this year's Games, come September 10th/11th, or maybe a little bit later.

Of course it is ultimately "the powers that be", who decide what will happen, but with the likes of Canada's Wonderland scheduled to open in early July, we are very hopeful.

We have at least 12 Pipe Bands who are willing to attend, as well as the Heavies. Hopefully we will have some Clan members there too.

The Highland Dancers have said they are waiting till Oct1 before they allow any competition, but it would be great if they could find a way to attend!

If we can do this, we will be the only Highland Games east of the Rocky Mountains. Canmore, Alberta is the only other Highland Games scheduled this year, in all of Canada

We will keep monitoring the situation, and hopefully we can still have our Games, but as we have said it is ultimately the decision of the Government.
