THE FRIDAY EVENING CEILIDH - June 25th, 2010

05:00 pm - Join us for an informal Ceilidh (pronounced "Kay-lee"). In Gaelic it translates
as a "social visit" celebrating any event, and was characterized by informal music, dancing,
drinking, and storytelling. So bring your singing voice and whatever else, and join the fun!
• Be entertained by the multi instramental Celtic fusion of Steafan Hannigan and Saskia Tomkins.
• At 7pm, Rev. Kevin Fast will have a Strongman Competition featuring the log press, farmers walk and car lift.

SATURDAY'S EVENTS - June 26th, 2010

08:30 am - Highland Dancing Competition begins. You will enjoy a full day of dancing!
09:00 am - Amateur Heavy Athletic Events Begin.
• Woodcarvers, Spinning/Weaving Demonstrations throughout the day.
10:30 am - The parade will start by Victoria Hall and Third Street, continue along King Street to Victoria Park for a short concert and  then proceed along Bay Street to Donegan Park
11:00 am - Refreshment Garden opens.
Medieval Knights will duel for the hand of a fair maiden.
• Children's Activities.
12:30 pm - Official Welcoming Ceremonies with Dignitaries.
• Invocation by Rev. Dr. Kevin Fast.
• National Anthems
12:30 pm - First Parade of the Massed Pipes and Drums.
12:45 pm - Professional Heavy Events Competitions begin with Cobourg's own Kevin Fast, known locally for the outstanding feat of pulling a 28 ton fire truck along King Street—recognized by the Guinness Book of Records and featured on TV's Ripley's Believe It or Not.
• Performances by individuals and Massed Pipe Bands begin and continue throughout the afternoon.
Medieval Knights will duel for the hand of a fair maiden.
• Afternoon Dance Medals will be presented at the competition of dance.
03:30 pm - Medieval Knights will duel for the hand of a fair maiden.
04:45 pm - Cobourg Canter
05:45 pm
- Final Parade of the Massed Bands and Closing Ceremonies.
