Cobourg Highland Games:
Medieval Knights—Blades of Glory — The gauntlet has been thrown… the challenge has been accepted. Two knights raise theirs swords in a salute acknowledging their respective foe. A tip of the helmet addressed to the lady, they are by honour to defend. Only one will emerge victorious on this day!
Sheep Herding — Scottish border collies are bred for herding sheep in Scotland, pasture to pasture, and for taking the sheep for sheering or sending them to market. One shepherd could then control four or five dogs and a flock of several hundred sheep. See them perform at the games!
Shakespeare Street Theatre is the incredibly talented theatre group that perform the wonderful and various works of Shakespeare in a true traditional and unique style. The Theatre wants to encourage everyone in the community to enjoy the Bard's works and appreciate the importance of how his language and the wonders of his stories can give enjoyment to all. Using handmade Elizabethan style masks, costumes, scenery and props, Shakespeare Street Theatre offer their own unique style to every production, including original 16th century songs, dances and even fencing! |
